Summary

Introduction

The Greek tragedy “Antigone” is reborn upon the memory of the Jeju April 3rd Massacre. In this reimagining, Antigone, who once sought to bury her fallen brother, becomes a shimbang, a shaman who recovers silenced voices. Through ritual chants, she reveals the red memories embedded in the land, and as she confronts state power, the audience is drawn into a shared act of witnessing and uncovering history.
