Introduction
Celebrating its 41st anniversary, Geukdan Kkeundul presents “Wild Rose,” a madang-geuk (traditional Korean open-air folk theater) that humorously unfolds the wisdom and philosophy of the Donguibogam (Compendium of Korean Medicine). The story follows protagonist Jeong Gwirae, the five vital organs (heart, liver, lungs, spleen, and kidneys), and five children as they embark on a journey to discover the truth that “a healthy mind leads to a happy body.” With vibrant energy, the troupe delivers a warm and spirited reminder of the balance between body and mind for modern audiences.
