Introduction
The first work of the Anthropolis five-part series, “Prologue/Dionysus,” combines a prologue announcing the birth of the royal house of Thebes with an adaptation of Euripides’ The Bacchae. Through the tragedy born of human madness and collective desire, the piece poses questions about power, oppression, freedom, and identity.
